Dear Parents,

Re: IB Retreat to The Kingswood Center.

This residential retreat provides D1 students with the opportunity to reconnect as a year group after the summer break and to meet new students entering the year. The activities that students participate in allow them to build life skills including teamwork, communication, resilience and self-reliance whilst improving their confidence in unfamiliar situations.

The retreat is a multi-activity trip to The Kingswood Center, Overstrand, near Cromer in Norfolk. It is an inclusive part of our curriculum and an intrinsic part of students' Creativity, Activity and Service Programme that will take place from Wednesday, 27th September to Friday, 29th September and therefore it is compulsory.

Kingswood is a leading residential activity centre provider, responsible for delivering safe and rewarding educational programmes to over 130,000 children every year. With thrilling outdoor and indoor adventure activities, this trip is sure to provide your child with a wealth of new experiences outside of the classroom. Students will be accompanied by Mr. Lucas, Ms. Murnaghan, and Mr. Turner.  We will be sending out a Clarion Call every day in order to give you updates. You will also be able to check our social media pages to view photos and accounts of our activities.

Please do not allow your child to bring electrical devices, computer games, jewellery/valuables, aerosol deodorants, etc. We realise students will want to bring their mobile phones. This is at your discretion, but please be aware that mobile phones are not covered by our insurance.

Lost Property: please label everything, indelible felt tip pens are useful for this. Students are responsible for their own belongings and it may be useful to provide a list of items packed. Lost property is hard to track down after a visit and there is a small charge for returning items.

As this is a residential trip, please click here to complete the permission form which includes dietary and medical information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.

Kind Regards
