Dear Parents,

I am delighted to invite you to a very special afternoon. On 18th May, we will be celebrating Chancellor Stephen Spahn's 50 years as Head of Dwight Schools. To mark this inspirational landmark, we will be renaming the Upper School Dwight Building the Stephen Spahn Building, with a jubilant ceremony.

I have mentioned Chancellor Spahn in some of my previous newsletters. Did you know that he is the longest-serving head of an independent school in the USA? Since 1967, he has Ignited the Spark of Genius in hundreds of children, mentoring generations of students, and educating them to become innovative global leaders. He spearheads the education of over 2,000 students through the Dwight global network. If you did not get the chance to read the IB World Magazine article included in my recent newsletter, you can read it here. You can also view this clip to see how he has inspired students and staff through the arts, including the Carnegie Hall concert in which many of our students participated.

Flying from New York to London, Chancellor Spahn will be our guest of honour at this exciting event. Our students, teachers and parents will gather in the Dwight school playground for a dynamic mix of live music from the school bands, student performances and artistic creations, as well as the unveiling of the Spahn Building plaque.

The event will take place at the Dwight School playground on Friern Barnet Road, N11 3DR. The ceremony will commence at 2.00pm, followed by refreshments and live music until 5pm.

We hope you can join us. Please register for the event here.

Kind regards

Alison Cobbin
