Dear Parents,


With only a few weeks until the M1 trip to the Eden Project in Cornwall, we wanted to give you some more important information for the trip. You will have already received the school trip brochure attached here.

Schedule of activities:

Depart time: Monday, 24th September at 9am from the Spahn Campus. Please arrive by 8.30am.


Approximate return time on Friday (depending on traffic): 5.00-6.00pm


We will be in contact with parents via Clarion call during the trip. In the event of an emergency, the trip leader Flora Mather can be contacted on 07837 178 657.

Bedding:

Students will be staying in a YHA hostel on the site of the Eden Project where full bedding is provided.


Clothing:

During the trip to Siblyback Lake clothing and shoes can potentially get wet and muddy. Trainers are needed for activities at the Lake and for the activities with Hang Loose. Students should bring jumpers/fleeces and warm clothing for the day at Siblyback Lake.


Below you can find the recommended packing list.

  • Suitable nightwear
  • Underwear
  • Trousers/leggings for activities (not jeans for Siblyback Lake)
  • 1 pair of trainers for activities
  • 1 pair of shoes for watersports (preferably old trainers)
  • Fleece/sweatshirt for evening activities
  • Long sleeved shirt/T-shirts
  • T-shirts
  • Waterproof jacket (and trousers if you have them) in case of rain
  • Baseball hat/sun hat (optional)

 

Other Items:

  • One towel for showering
  • One 'old' towel for wet activities
  • Drink bottle
  • Small rucksack/bag
  • Labelled bin bag for wet and dirty clothing
  • Toiletries (including soap, shampoo, deodorant and toothpaste)
  • A reading book
  • Small amount of snacks (optional)
  • Money for lunch/snacks for bus journey (optional and no more than £20)

 

Mobile devices and valuables:

Students are able to bring mobile phones that can be used only in down time/in cabins. Students are also welcome to bring cameras and GoPros to activities. Students should leave other electronic items including laptops at home as well as valuables including jewellery. Please note: students are responsible for their own belongings which are not covered under school insurance.


Food and medical:

All meals are provided and provisions will be made for those with specific dietary needs.

In the event that your daughter/son needs any medication for the trip, please ensure that it is packed with your son/daughter or given to myself prior to departure.  Please email me with any special instructions.

 

If your child has any specific Quest needs we have not been made aware of, please contact Ms. Sen and Ms. Mather asap.
