Dear Parents,
We are really excited to tell you that Scholastic Books are coming to our school next week!
The Book Fair will take place in the MakerSpace Room, which is the room next to the Year 5 classroom. It will be open for children and parents to browse and buy books from Tuesday, 20th November to Thursday, 22nd November, between 3:40pm - 5:00pm.
This Friday, the children will take a Scholastic brochure home to explore the books on offer. They will also look at the selection of books during school hours on Monday, when they will fill in a wish list with titles and prices for your guidance and approval.
Year 6 students are running four competitions this year alongside the book fair. As avid readers themselves, these competitions are:
- Design a bookmark.
- Record an audio narration of a picture story.
- Illustrate a mythical creature story! (This has been written by two Year 6 students).
- Create your own book character.
The winners will receive a £5 voucher which they can spend at the fair, and all entries will be awarded house tokens.
We would like to take this opportunity to also remind you that up to 60% of the proceeds from the sales of the Book Fair go directly to the Library and allows us to buy more books for our school – so with each book you buy for your child, you are also helping to expand and enlarge the resources of our Library.
