Dear Lower School Parents
We listened to your feedback and will be setting up more regular Google 'Meet' sessions with your child's class teacher and the specialist teachers. Your child's class teacher will continue to meet with the class first thing in the morning, then between 11 and 12 and also at the end of the school day from 3pm onwards, as confirmed by your child's class teacher .
2) Assemblies We want to encourage a community feel and we will be hosting Virtual Lower School assemblies that can be accessed by any student (and their parents). These are as follows: Sparky Assembly every Tuesday 9.00-9.15am, Music Assembly every Wednesday 9.00-9.15am, House/Action Assembly every Friday 9.00am-9.15am.
We want to provide our students with a wider range of experiences as they continue through lockdown. We will be hosting a variety of Virtual After School Clubs that will take place everyday after school between 3.45-4.15. These will change on a two week cycle. The Virtual Clubs are open to all of our students (and their parents) except those by invitation only.
We took note of what your feedback and work will now be spread a little more across the week. As a minimum we will send out some of the classwork/activities on Monday morning as usual and then we will share the rest on Wednesdays or throughout the school week depending on the tasks and the ages of the children.
Specialist teachers teach PE, Music, Art and Languages (French & Spanish). There will be at least one optional specialist lesson, each day for every class.
You asked for more structure and we have produced two schedules that show the events/activities that are taking place each day. On the timetables you can see when the online lessons are, and also when we would expect students to work independently. Please see timetables on the following pages for Early Years and for Years 1 to 6.
