This Week in Upper School

Summer Fair

As you have no doubt heard, the decision has been taken to postpone the Summer Fair, which was to take place this Saturday. We were fearful that the weather would not be on our side - and this would not only disrupt the fair itself but would also inflict considerable damage on the playing surface of the field. We make maximum use of the field and, as we prepare for our Upper School Sports Day we cannot risk any damage being done.

We have reset the date for Saturday, 17th September. It will still take place at our sports field on Dale Green Road from 11am-2pm.

I do thank you all for your contributions. On our two non-uniform days a considerable number of bottles, as well as books and toys, have been donated and these will all be safely stored until we do run the event.

Sports Day
It is a few weeks away still, but we are already looking forward to it. It takes place on Tuesday, 5th July. We would welcome support from parents, families and friends, so if you are free please come down to the playing fields and cheer the students on. Tea and coffee will be provided for parents throughout the day, but students should bring a packed lunch and adequate drinks with them.

M5 Feedback Survey
Some weeks ago I sent out a survey to all M5 students. I was asking them to share reflections on the e-assessments, as well as to submit an email address to which the results would be issued. I am still waiting for replies from some students, and I ask M5 families to encourage their children to respond. Students will find the relevant information in their school email accounts.

IB Information Evening for Japanese Families
Many thanks to all the parents who attended the information evening on Thursday, it was great to see such a good turnout. Thanks to Ms. Hotsuki, Ms. Ishikawa, our Japanese students, and Professor Ikeda of Sophia University Japan and Kings College London, for their informative presentations.

Chantelle Williams-Lee Performance
Congratulations to Chantelle Williams-Lee (M4) who performed at the recent Euro-Sino Conference at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. We heard she was a huge hit with the 300-plus audience, well done Chantelle!
