Swim Gala

We had a fantastic afternoon on Tuesday at the Upper School House Swim Gala. Congratulations to all of the M1-M4 swimmers for their efforts on the day and a big thank you to the D1 students for assisting as house leaders and lane judges.

Congratulations to Gandhi on being the winning House!
1st: Gandhi 356
2nd: King 314
3rd: Mandela 221 points

With all houses having now won a house sport event this year, we are looking forward to our final house event, Sports Day which will take place on Wednesday, 21st June.

Focussing in on Assessments:
Soon after the half term break, we shall be holding our annual assessment week. During this time, all students will be sitting assessments in most of their subjects. This will allow the teachers to gain an additional measure on how students have performed this year, and it also gives the students experience of sitting assessments in a more formal setting.

Students in M4 and upwards are expected to be at school during the days and times of the assessments, whilst those in M1 to M3 will sit the assessments within their usual schedule.

Please click here to view the draft assessment schedule for M4 and M5. Mr Johnson is working on the D1 schedule and this be be released as soon as it is ready.

External Assessments
D2 have now been hard at work on the IB DP assessments for a week. All is going well and some are half way through.

M5 are just about to begin their on-screen assessments. Please click here to view the schedule.

Students will attend for these five sessions which will take place in the Dwight building. Students will have one final briefing on procedures this Friday.

As mentioned last week, those not sitting these assessments will not be obliged to attend school during this two week period. Should they wish to do so, they will be welcome and they will be expected to spend the time preparing for the internal assessments.

Dwight Parent Association News and Events

Dwight School London International Cookbook

Have you submitted a recipe yet?! The Parent Association is hoping for your support in making this an exciting fundraising cookbook for our school community and we want great recipes from our students, parents and staff members! The cookbook price will be £15 and available for pick up at the Summer Fair. All proceeds will go directly to Parent Association.

A few rules about the recipes you submit:

  • The recipe must be in metric measurements – Tablespoons and teaspoons are ok (here's a link to help convert if you need it).
  • All the ingredients must be easily sourced at a London supermarket.
  • It can be a recipe from an existing cookbook – all we ask is that you site the source

You can use the form here to submit the recipe for inclusion in the cookbook.

Please fill out the boxes that are applicable and PLEASE proofread and double check your entry before you submit it, as it will be published as is. We encourage you to also submit a photograph – either of the dish or of your family or your child for inclusion in the cookbook, as this will make the cookbook great. You are also welcome to submit a few recipes as this will give us flexibility if we get many similar ones.

The final deadline for your submission is Monday, 15th May.  So don't delay!!!!

Many thanks,

Parent Association
