Summer Fair
We are excited to announce that this year we will be holding a dog show at the Summer Fair. The show will start at 11.30am and will include the following categories:
- Best female
- Best male
- Best mixed breed
- Best pedigree
- Waggiest tail
- Best in show
Entry into each category will cost £1 and the overall winning dog will get to take home a lovely dog hamper! Money raised will go towards Friends of the RSPCA Southridge.
Thankfully shielded by the great, timber beams of The Globe on one of the hottest days of the year, M3 English Literature students experienced a contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet on Tuesday, 20th June. While Romeo mingled with the Groundlings as he proclaimed many-a-famous expression of his love for the fair Juliet, familiar characters such as Mercutio and Tybalt in butcher's aprons and Doc Martins, brought to life, the ill-fated story of the young lovers. From the Disney inspired, comic foils to pop anthems and the inevitable dramatic tragedy of the final scene, our students witnessed one of the classic stories of all time by the River Thames.
School Dance
Well done to M5 for setting up and organising a very successful school dance during the warm evenings of late. A great time was had by all.
M5 Celebration
And equally well done to M5 for planning and staging their own IBMYP Celebration on Tuesday afternoon. They did this is the calm and well-mannered way that they have conducted themselves during all their years at the school and it was a deeply meaningful event.
Sports Day
Well done Gandhi for doing so well on Sports Day. Warm as it was, it was a great day with plenty of good involvement from all of our students. You can view photos from the day here.
Gandhi may have won on Sports Day, but they have not yet won the overall house trophy, and there are points still to be earned.
Book Fair
Thank you to Ms. Sen for organising the Book Fair that has brought this busy week to a close. Students have had the chance to see a variety of books and we hope that they still get much joy from the experience of actually holding and reading them - instead of doing nearly everything online.
SING, SING, SING!
Come and join the fun at the Dwight Community Choir, the social singing event for parents & staff at Dwight Jubilee Hall.

Dwight Parent Association News and Events
June Out and About event – A re-scheduled tour of Chislehurst Caves in Kent (due to Storm Doris cancelling the last!)
Chislehurst Caves is a 35 km long series of intersecting tunnels used for chalk and flint mining from the 13–19th centuries.

Date: Thursday, 29th June
Meet: West Finchley tube station 9.00am – or Charing Cross rail station ticketing area at 9.45am – We will take the 10:06 Southeastern Train from Charing Cross to Chislehurst (30 min ride)
We will plan to take the 11.00am caves tour.
Cost: £6 to enter the caves and approx £12 for train ticket
