Dear Parents,

RE: Physical Health Education - Mixed Activity Trip, Osmington Bay

This residential trip in September provides M4 students with the opportunity to reconnect as a year group after the summer break and to meet new students entering their year. The activities that students participate in allow them to build life skills including teamwork, communication, resilience and self-reliance whilst improving their confidence in unfamiliar situations.

This year it is a multi-activity trip to the PGL Osmington Bay Centre, in Weymouth, Dorset. PGL is the UK's largest provider of outdoor education for young people and has over 55 years of experience. It is an  inclusive part of our curriculum that will take place from Monday, 25th September to Friday, 29th September and is therefore compulsory.

Each day is packed with adventure to excite, inspire and build confidence, bringing a different dimension to the learning experience. There are four, one-and-a-half hour sessions, each day with different activities to keep everyone engaged. We will be designated a dedicated PGL 'groupie' to provide support throughout our stay and have tailor-made programmes to best suit our students. All accommodation, food, activities and instruction are included as well as having 24-hour support from the centre team. Students will also be accompanied by myself, Mr. Wynter and Mr Masilungan, who is a new teacher joining us in September.  We will be sending out a Clarion call every day in order to give you updates. You will also be able to check our social media pages to view photos and accounts of our activities.

Lost Property: please label everything,  indelible felt tip pens are useful for this. Students are responsible for their own belongings and it may be useful to provide a list of items packed. Lost property is hard to track down after a visit and there is usually a charge for returning items.
