Dwight Parent Association Newsletter

Welcome

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to a new term, a new year and of course to the first edition of Dwight Connect for 2019! I hope your holiday was a joyful and relaxed one and we wish you and your families a very happy and successful year.

I would also like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new families who have joined us here at Dwight. I hope your time here at Dwight is everything that you hope for and more. For more information on the Dwight Parent Association please follow the link on the school website here or contact me, Angela Bridge, the Chair, at dpa@dwightlondon.org

The DPA supports the school in many way, one of which is recommending the school to other prospective parents. One of the ways we do this is via Facebook and Google reviews. Please show your support by writing a review, you can do this by clicking here for Facebook and here for Google. Thank you in advance for your support.

Whole School Coffee Morning

Remember to join us tomorrow morning, Wednesday 9th January, from 8.30am in Dwight Cafe for our Whole School Coffee Morning. This is a perfect opportunity to catch up with a coffee and pastry and meet new and old friends.

We will be selling pre-used uniforms and will also have a presentation from Focus. Focus are a non-profit organisation who help and support expats who are ready to begin work in the UK or those who are in need of professional or social networking.

A special thank you to all the parents who supported the DPA last term. The first term was a busy one with the Lower School's Halloween events as well as the Winter Fair. Also, many thanks to the parents who took some time out to decorate the Upper School campuses with festive decorations.

Parents Social Events

We are just four weeks away from our Parent Social Event and this year will differ from previous years. We are really excited to tell you that it will be a casino night held in the Lower School hall. Preparation is already underway. If you are able to assist in any way then please email your interest at dpa@dwightlondon.org. We look forward to seeing you there!

Dwight Parent Buddy Programme

To provide a warm welcome to new families joining our community here at Dwight, we need volunteers to become a Dwight Parent Buddy. Our aim is to match current families with new families to help ensure they enjoy a smooth transition into both London and the school.

Parent Buddies support new families by answering any questions they may have regarding their move to London and Dwight. It can range from advice on different areas to live, to where is good to go for a day out. To be a Parent Buddy, you just need to have a child enrolled in the school, it does not make a difference if you have been here 5 years or 5 weeks! To volunteer to be a Parent Buddy, please click here. If you would like more information please contact our Parent Buddy Co-ordinator, Michele O'Neil at michele@seanoneill.com.
