Early Years Welcome a New Staff Member

This week we welcomed a new member of staff to work in the Early Years classroom. Juliana Lopes is originally from Brazil and she has worked in Education for over 10 years in countries including Sweden, England and Brazil. She joins our Early Years class as it continues to expand and she has already got to know the staff and students. We wish her well with her role and welcome her to the Dwight Team!

IB Continuum Meeting

Last Thursday, we held an IB Continuum meeting for our parents to help build your understanding of how the three programmes (IBPYP, IBMYP and IBDP), build on each other, the processes involved in each of the projects and to give you the opportunity to collaborate with other parents and make connections. If you could not attend, the presentation can be downloaded here. Please let the relevant coordinator know if you have any questions.

Early Years Activity Morning

We will have our Early Years Activity Morning on Saturday, 26th January from 10.30am-12pm in The Lodge. Please let your friends and family know and they can register their interest to attend here.

Date Reminders

  • Year 5 parents are invited to a meeting about the residential trip to Flatford Mill in Sussex on Monday, 28th January. You will also have the opportunity to meet the new  Year 5 teacher Mrs. Gupta!
  • On Wednesday, 30th January the Young Voices Concert takes place at the O2. We have now taken part in this nationally recognised event for over 5 years. This time we will be sending singers from both the Upper School and the Lower School. There are 13 singers representing the Lower School from Year 5 and 6. They will go to the O2 at lunchtime. They will then rehearse and perform in front of over 10,000 people before finishing their day around 9pm.
  • On Thursday, 31st January, our Girls Football team take on Devonshire House. The team has played well this season and we look forward to seeing if they bring home another win!
  • Also on Thursday, 31st January, Year 3 will try Forest School. They will go to Moat Mount during the day and try to use their inquiry and questioning skills to find out more about their new venue. Haran from Year 5 went to Forest School last week and discovered an abandoned birds nest!
