Message from the Head of School

I was very privileged to attend the Dwight Global Music Concert in Shanghai during the half term break. What a sensational concert! Our very talented musicians performed with joy and enthusiasm. The music team of Jan Kraft, Chris Ray and Angie-May Woolfe did a phenomenal job in preparing our students for the event and supporting them on-stage. Special thanks to Jan Kraft, our legendary Director of Music whose stunning arrangements made the Dwight London medley the stand-out performance on the night.

Beyond the music, this trip was a wonderful cultural and personal experience for all our... Read more...

Dancing in the Lower School

This week we invited a dance expert to help us with some dance moves. Mr. Williams invited in Fay Willis from Dance Day Centre. Each class spent some time with her and the theme was the Six Nations! Each group composed a dance specific to their year group and a dance linked to the Six Nations focussing on one of the countries: Scotland, England, Wales, Ireland, Italy or France.

Inquiry-based Learning

Our IB MYP courses are always inquiry-based and hands-on, and it was wonderful to see our M3 students model and build a 3D city in Ms. Sincheva's maths class. Students were divided into four areas of a city where each group concentrated on building specific buildings according to the type of population they were allocated to (i.e. family, young people, older people and work area). The students loved it!

Can you help with a Work Experience Placement?

As M5 students are approaching the stage of choosing subjects for the Diploma course, one of the most important ways to help them is to aid them in getting as much relevant work experience as possible. We would very much appreciate if you could provide students with a one-week placement or assist them in finding such a placement. We have students interested in IT, theatre, art/photography, music, journalism, law, finance, business and many more! If this is something you can offer please email

Beyond the Classroom in the Lower School

This past week, we have had many trips in and around London to link our year groups units to what is in the world!

Year 6 visited the Nelson Mandela exhibition and learned a lot about a very principled and humble leader. This was linked to their PYP Unit of Inquiry... Read more...

Save the Date

Just a quick reminder that next Thursday is our annual International Evening and we would really like to know if you and your family are coming?

What: This is a fantastic community event where we all celebrate the internationalism of our school and sample foods from around the world.

When: Thursday,  7th March 6.30-8.30pm

Where: Jubilee Hall, Upper School, 6 Friern Barnet Lane, N11 3LX

Who: All students, parents and staff

Cost: Voluntary donation at the door for the Nepal Project & cash bar

All you have to do is bring a tasty dish from your home country that serves 8-10 people. Please include any serving utensils, we will provide plates, napkins and cutlery – and in return you will get to mingle and try different foods from all around the world. Consider family dinner handled, which in our book is a win-win!

If you would like to bring any festive decorations from your country or come dressed in traditional dress, or national sports kit, that is quite welcomed as well!

This year we will have passports, similar to last year, meaning when a student tries a dish from a country they will get a stamp! Please click here to let us know which country your representing so that we can make the passports accordingly.

What makes our school so unique is our internationalism, so please join and celebrate with us! We look forward to seeing you there.
