Dwight Parent Association Newsletter

Welcome

Dear FIRSTNAME,

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Dwight Connect updating you on Dwight Parent Association events and keeping you informed about your community.

I start again by sharing my gratitude for another successful night. At this year's International Evening we were able to showcase foods from 28 different countries. It was an evening to celebrate the diversity that surrounds us here at Dwight and also gave us the opportunity to experience the world through food. We travelled the globe without leaving Jubilee hall!

Thank you to all of the DPA members that helped to organise and promote the evening, to those who supplied the delicious meals, for the staff who helped make the evening the success it was and also for those who provided all the entertainment. Thank you also to those who attended. Every little part that you all played made this international evening another night to remember for the DPA.

Language and Literature Disco

Lower School had another disco to celebrate World Book Day and to conclude Language and Literature Week. This year the children were encouraged to dress in costumes with the theme of Fantasy. Many thanks to the Year 6 Class reps and parents for making it another fun disco and congratulations to the best costume winner, Alfie for wearing quite an imaginative costume.

Out and About Events

On Thursday, 28th February, the Dwight Out and About Parents Club had a fun evening out where we went Bowling at All Star Lanes in Holborn. The cute American retro-themed boutique bowling alley was a great background for a little competitive game and for a catch up with friends

Everyone had a ball!

Don't Forget...

Could you be a parent buddy?

The DPA are looking for more parent buddies for new families arriving at Dwight London. As a parent buddy your role would be to welcome a new family to the school and have the opportunity to discuss questions or concerns they may have. The Parent Buddy co-ordinator will connect you appropriately based on language and year group. For more information please contact dpa@dwightlondon.org.

Raffle Donations

The DPA are in urgent need of items to use as raffle prize for future events. If you have your own business and can donate your products or services or have a close relationship with someone who can, then please let us know at dpa@dwightlondon.org. In the past we have had beauty treatments, personal training as well as branded merchandise. We also welcome unwanted gifts… One's Trash, Another's Treasure.

easyfundraising

Please do not forget helping us raise funds for the DPA whenever you shop online. Use easyfundraising to shop with over 3,500 big name retailers including Amazon, Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, and Booking.com – and when you shop, you'll raise a free donation for us every time.
