Dwight Parent Association Newsletter

Hello and welcome back to another edition of Dwight Connect updating you on Dwight Parent Association events and keeping you informed about your community.

Planning for the Summer Fair
Our largest event of the year will take place on Saturday, 22nd June at the Dwight Sports Field. This Tuesday, 26th March at 10am, we will hold a preliminary planning meeting for this year's Summer Fair. This meeting will take at Spahn Building in the Dwight Café and will involve the whole school to discuss how the DPA can make this year's summer fair the best one yet! I am especially interested in entrepreneurs who are looking for ways to promote their business in the school community or in the general community.

Please let me know if you are able to attend at

Keep Fit and Taste the World

The annual International Breakfast and Fun Run takes place on Friday, 5th April between 8.40-10.20am and it would be great to see you there! The children will be running for up to 20 minutes. Children and parents are encouraged, but not required to get sponsorship for the Fun Run. Forms are available to download here or can be picked up from the Lower School Office. The money raised will be split 50% to The North London Hospice and the other 50% will go to the DPA to support the purchase of a new canopy in the Lower School's upper playground.

We would also like to give you the opportunity to eat breakfast with your child at school. In order to make it truly international, we need your help. Please bring a plate to share food that you would usually eat for breakfast. We will be setting up the hall with all the breakfast foods from 7.45am. Please fill in the online form here by Friday, 29th March if you can contribute to the breakfast. Plates, cups, spoons, knives and forks will be provided by the school.

Out and About Events

On Friday, 22nd March the Out and About group visited The Charles Dickens Museum. This was where Charles Dickens moved in 1837 with his wife and child in his 20's. He wrote Pickwick Papers, Oliver Twist and Nicholas Nickleby while living there. It was amazing to see his desk and learn more about such an iconic Londoner!

The DPA are looking for more parent buddies for new families arriving at Dwight London.
