Clubs at the Lower School
Last week we launched our Lower School clubs for 2020, these are now available to join using this link. They start on Monday January 13th and go through until Friday March 20th. We have some new exciting clubs including Mother Nature Science Club, and Chinese Watercolour Painting Club!
Book Fair Updates
A couple of weeks ago we promoted the Lower School Book Fair. We now have our final totals. We sold £909.80 worth of books and therefore £545.88 can be spent on books for our Lower School library. Mrs Mastoridis will ask students what kinds of books they would like and which authors they would specifically choose.
Learning in the Lodge, Christmas is Here! We had a busy week! We enjoyed our End of the Year party as well as the Winter Fair. We were very busy all week with all the Christmas themed activities. Here is an outline of our learning:
Our last Forest School sessions of the term! Early Years sat around the fire circle and sang Christmas songs as they waited for the Kelly Kettle to boil. They then explored a new area of the forest and enjoyed sitting on the trees, pretending they were riding horses.
M2 Spanish Immersion Day, Monday 9 December Last Monday, our M2 Spanish students celebrated the end of their current unit by immersing themselves in the Spanish culture on a visit to the Hispanic area in Notting Hill.

Junior Frontiers Days Our first Frontier Days was a great success and I am thankful for the teachers leading this new initiative in the Upper School. I could see the students design thinking abilities grow over this two day course, as they created, prototyped, researched, pitched and presented a range of ideas to enhance an area of Dwight School London. The skills developed over these days will really serve students well in the world of future work/jobs, and the whole premise of the frontier method is to engage students with lean startup methodologies - very appropriate for the 2020 workplace and beyond. I am delighted to announce the winning pitch was done by Adam (M2), Zach (M2), Leo (M1) and Josh (M1) and their idea of a 'Dwight Helper' app will be further developed in the Spark Tank with Mr Turner! View some of the pictures from the day here.
Sarah Hyndman: Student to Stemette We want to extend our congratulations to Sarah Hyndman in D1. Since July, Sarah has been participating in a formal mentorship program called Student to Stemette and on Tuesday she successfully graduated as part of London Cohort 14.
Out and About The Dwight Out and About Holiday dinner was a success! We had quite a large, fabulous group and got to kick off the holiday party season in style at the beautiful Holly Bush Pub in Hampstead.
