Dear parents,
Whilst we are working hard to ensure the learning for students at Dwight continues during the current uncertainty due to the Coronavirus, having reviewed the trips scheduled for this week, we have decided to cancel those trips that would involve either travel on public transport or sharing a public space with a large group.
This includes:
- M4, Tuesday 17th March - M4 Language and Literature trip to take part in a London Black History walk
- M1 & M2, Thursday 19th March - M1 and M2 French students trip to the institut francais.
- D1, Friday 20th March - The D1 Theatre students to the National Theatre
- M1, Monday 23rd March - M1 students visit to the Science Museum.
- Lower School Netball fixtures on Thursday and Friday this week .
Sports and other events will also be impacted; there will not be a trampolining activity this week for Year 3 and we will also be cancelling swimming lessons for both Lower (Year 6 and Year 4) and Upper School students, and the planned Spark Talks event for M3 on Wednesday. We have also decided not to take a team to the national cross country finals on Friday.
We understand that this news may be disappointing for you and your children. Our hope is to find the same or alternative experiences at other times as we value the learning provided to students through these trips.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of the current advice from the NHS is to stay at home for 7 days if you have either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough. In order to protect our community, we will be enforcing this guidance for both students and staff members.
Once again, I thank you for your continued support and flexibility in these difficult times.
Kind regards
Alison Cobbin
