Dear parents/guardians,
As a school, we are firm believers in the benefits of the International Baccalaureate curriculum. Whilst the content of what is taught in the classrooms could be very similar to a typical British education, the underlying philosophy and approaches to teaching and learning are very different. The IB is focused on fostering a love of learning, and creating a better world through educating both the hearts and minds of life-long learners.
To give you an understanding of what the IB looks like in practice, last week we hosted our third annual IB Education Evening. Thank you to all the parents who attended. However, for anyone who missed out, don't worry! You can catch up now by watching the full presentation online.
As well as an overview of the what makes the International Baccalaureate different from other curriculums, you can sink your teeth into a particular area with our bite-sized workshops. These included: We hope that these sessions give you some valuable insight into what and how your children are learning at Dwight, and that you feel empowered to support your children on their learning journey.
Kind regards, Alison Cobbin / Head of School |
