| It has been a nice week for our friends from Dwight New York. They have been staying with our very accommodating Dwight London families in the evenings. During each day, the students and the five members of staff from Dwight New York have been visiting several London icons including Tower Bridge, Camden Market, the London Dungeon and the Aquarium. They have really enjoyed themselves. We wish them a safe trip home on Saturday and I know that our Year 6 students and staff are counting down the days before they fly into JFK Airport on Saturday, 14th of May to see them again.
| | Reception students visited the Science Museum on Tuesday. They really enjoyed the interactive section of the museum which is in the basement and where there are some fantastic water and light-based activities. They also took part in the story of the Three Little Pigs. They enjoyed re-enacting the story and learnt about different materials too. | Year 5 classes visited the Wallace Collection on Thursday. They enjoyed the visit and they learnt about some of the exhibits. They worked with different textiles and they even did some screen printing. The trip went well and the students learnt that creativity can be expressed in many different ways. Year 1 presented a lovely assembly on Friday. They talked about seeds and shared their love of plant life. The vocabulary that they used was really good. The assembly was fun, informative and entertaining. Year 1 will be visiting Kew Gardens next week to find out even more!
| | Super Question and Language of the Week
Super Question This week our super question was to find out – Which artist will be featured on the new £20 note? JMW Turner was the answer given by young Hamid in Year 1. He gets a Sparky for being knowledgeable. Next week the New York linked question is What is the nickname for New York city? Language of the Week Our language of the week was Indonesian, Selamat Pagi! Next week it is Tagalog.

Lower School in the Community In the Lower School, we occasionally rent out our facilities to the local community in the evenings. Some of you may be aware that we have been running several fitness sessions for adults over the last few years. More recently we have started a Taekwondo class that is specifically for children aged 7 to 11. It takes place on a Tuesday evenings from 5-6pm. If you are interested please contact Keiron Henderson keiron.henderson@gmail.com as there are still a few places available. Parent Association Our Parent Association meets every half term to discuss ways that the parent community can support the School for the benefit of the children. We would like to invite any interested parents to come to our next meeting on Thursday, 16th June at 9am with a view to volunteering for specific roles for the next academic year. If this sounds like something you might be interested in doing, please email either Ally Nally (Parent Association Chair) or myself mparkin@dwightlondon.org.
