Lower School Newsletter

Learning in the Lower School

This week has been a lovely end to a great year in the Lower School. We have enjoyed picnics, trips and celebrations. We have reflected, collaborated, reminisced and said our goodbyes. We have remembered the good times, the fun times, the tough times and the successes.
It all came to a fitting end on Friday when we said goodbye and good luck to all of the Year 6 students as they continue their learning journey up through the Upper School . The Year 6 students entertained us and then fittingly reminded us of the power of an IB education at Dwight School London. They signed our door so a part of them will always be here at the Lower School. They have successfully completed their IBPYP. We also
Said goodbye to colleagues and to other children in the school who are leaving us to attend schools in Australia, UAE, USA, Ireland and Canada. They have our best wishes for a successful learning journey.

Super Question and Language of the Week

Congratulations to Tamar in year 5 who named the 4 semi finalists of the Euro 2016. She got the final Sparky of 2015-2016 for being Knowledgable.

Congratulations also to the 23 other students that got 15 sparkles over the academic year. What an impressive achievement!

Thank you!

A school reflects its community - thank you all for your support, care, flexibility and belief in us. We as staff enjoy coming to school, we want your children to enjoy coming to school and we appreciate that you, our parent body, help make education vibrant, authentic and fun. A special mention, too, to all the members of the Parent Association committee and helpers for their time effort energy and support.

May I wish you all a happy and safe summer and I look forward to seeing you in sunny September. The learning never stops and for those of you who want to try out a wide range of books here is a list of good quality books that you could encourage your children to try if you wish.

Kind regards

Matt Parkins

Lower School Principal
