Dear Parents,
Scholastic Books are coming to our school next week!
The Book Fair will take place in the Hall. It will be open for children and parents to browse and buy books from Tuesday, 22nd November to Thursday, 24th November from 3.30 to 5.00pm.
We will follow our usual book fair routine - the children will look at the selection of books during school hours on Monday, and will fill in a 'wish list' with titles and prices for your guidance and approval.
Linking inquiry and learning in the library, our Year 5 students are running various competitions as part of their Unit of Inquiry on Advertising, e.g. design a bookmark, guess the number of pages in a book, create a mask of your favourite character, continue your favourite book etc. The winners will get a £5 voucher, they can spend at the fair, and all entries will be awarded house tokens.
We would like to take this opportunity to also remind you that up to 60% of the proceeds from the sales of the Book Fair go directly to the Library and allow us to buy more books for our school – so with each book you buy for your child, you are also helping to expand and enlarge the resources of our school Library.
