Dear Parents,

This week we:

  • got into the Christmas spirit by decorating the entrance hall in the Lodge. The children chose where they wanted to place their decorations on the tree.
  • made our annual Christmas video - you are in for a treat!
  • used our feet to print reindeer and made them into Christmas cards.
  • played with chocolate scented playdough making reindeer and pots.
  • painted our clay work with acrylic paints.
  • painted melted snowmen pictures. Next week we will write captions to say why the snowmen melted.
  • went to watch We're Going on a Bear Hunt at the Arts Depot.
  • encouraged the children to write in the Christmas mark making area. They are making lots of lovely cards, letters to Santa and gifts for each other.
  • played with the games some of the children brought to school for our Unit of Inquiry Let's Play. There were lots of opportunities for taking turns, cooperation and using language to explain the rules.
  • continued to practise our show ready for Tuesday. We hope you can join us.
  • enjoyed our last Yoga Bugs session. The children have REALLY enjoyed this WOW lesson.

Next week we:

  • will write captions about our melted snowmenn pictures.
  • are going to celebrate the end of term with a party on Thursday.
  • have lots of seasonal activities planned including cooking, crafts and sensorial activities.
  • will revise Phase 1 and Phase 2 of Letters and Sounds.
  • plan to complete our End of Unit Assessments by observing the children organise and play a game in a small group. We are watching to see how they decide who has which role and what happens if a conflict arises.
