Last week we celebrated World Book Day and Book Week by organising special activities throughout the week. We want to thank you, the parents, for making it such a great occasion by either reading to classes, sorting out potatoes for our book character competition and helping with the dressing up day on Friday. Please click here to view photos from the week.

Year 6 Transistion and IBMYP Workshop and Activity Evening

We are delighted that Andy Atkinson, the incoming Upper School Principal will be hosting an IBMYP Workshop and Activity Session on Thursday, 23rd March at 6.00pm in the Upper School. The workshop will be followed by an M1 student presentation specifically aimed at Lower School Parents. Subject leaders will also be on hand with information on the subjects students study during the IBMYP. All Lower School parents are urged to come along and learn more about the advantages of the IBMYP and the IB Diploma that follows.

We have taken part in several trips this week. Year 6 went to the Imperial War Museum as part of their Unit of Inquiry about Conflict.

Year 1 travelled by bus to Bethnal Green to visit the Museum of Childhood as part of their Unit of Inquiry about Toys and specifically about Moving Toys. (See images above)

Year 3 went to South Kensington to visit the Science Museum as part of their Unit of Inquiry about Electricity. They actually did get to meet and interview Mr. Faraday!

Well done to the Netball Team

Well done to the Netball Team who are a new Lower School sports team. They have learnt the game really quickly according to their coach Miss Mills. They recently took part in their first tournament and almost qualified for the semi finals!

Talent Show Auditions

Our talent show rehearsals continued this week. I particularly liked the dance routine put together by Yasmeen and Ines in Year 6. As well as the drumming by Antoni in Year 4.

The winners  will go through to the Dwight Talent show next Wednesday, 15th March from 2pm - 3pm in Woodside hall. We have  emailed an invite for the show to the parents of the successful contestants.

Super Question and Language of the Week

Last week our Super Question was to find out What National Day is celebrated in Wales on March 1st? Young Ethan in Year 4 correctly informed us that it was St David's Day. He wins a sparky for being knowledgeable. This week we asked Which national park celebrated its 37th birthday recently?
Have a great weekend.
