D2 IB Diploma Art Exhibition

Last night we had a fantastic turn out at our IB Art Exhibition. The creativity of the four students was outstanding and the feedback the students received from staff, family and friends was extremely positive. If you were unable to join us, please click here to view more photos from the evening.

Year 6 Transistion and IBMYP Workshop and Activity Evening
We are delighted that Andy Atkinson, the incoming Upper School Principal, will be hosting an IBMYP Workshop and Activity Session on Thursday, 23rd March at 6.00pm in the Upper School. The workshop will be followed by an M1 student presentation specifically aimed at Lower School Parents during which time Upper School parents can enjoy the refreshments and subject displays. We look forward to seeing you there.

M1 - M3 Chromebooks
Chromebooks have been issued to every student in M1 to M3. They are a valuable learning tool that bring access to resources and software into the classroom and beyond. They can also help make your child's education more personalised and inquiry-led. As such, there will now be the expectation that every M1-M3 student brings in a charged chromebook (or equivalent device) every school day. This does not mean they will use them every lesson but it will give teachers the option to draw upon this valuable educational resource when appropriate.

Please support the school in instilling this habit and help your child leave home every day with a chromebook in their bag. If you have any questions in regards to this policy please contact Mr. Nick Brown, IT Strategy Manager.

Netball
Thank you in advance to Ms. Mills and Ms. Miley who are taking our Netball team away for the weekend to Condover Hall in Shropshire. Netball has proven to be very popular this year, and now that the spring weather is here we are sure that the team will enjoy it even more. We look forward to reading about their weekend in next week's newsletter.

Memorial Assembly

A reminder that we will be holding a Memorial Assembly for Ms. Julia Watson at 3.00pm on Tuesday, 14th March in Jubilee Hall, 6 Friern Barnet Lane, N11 3LX. Julia's family has requested that we make this a happy occasion, reflecting Julia's optimistic outlook and cheeky sense of humour, if you would like to join us, please bring your happy memories of Julia to share over a cuppa and a biscuit, following the assembly.

There will also be an opportunity to contribute to a book of condolences after the assembly.

A number of our students, of course, did not get a chance to meet Julia. If they do not wish to attend the assebly, they can be picked up from school at 2.45pm, or can make their own way home. For those students who do not wish to attend, but would like to remain at school, we will have staff on duty in the Dwight building to supervise them.

Sports News

Welcome to this week's Dwight Sports News.

We would like to congratulate the Girls Football Team for winning 6-1 at their match on Tuesday against St Mary's. Considering it was the girl's first football match of the year they all played very well!

Unfortunately, the Dwight senior team lost their match on Monday. They lost 10-3 against King Alfred school. There was some great playing from the team though. Ali in D2 was a great goalkeeper and Petros in D1 was one of the top players. Hopefully Dwight will win their next match.

Last week on Friday the Dwight Junior Netball Team went to an ISA competition. Unfortunately they didn't win any matches, but overall the team was great. We hope they win next time and come out stronger than before. Haya M1
