IB Diploma Exams and Graduation

Today saw the final IB Diploma exam for our D2 students and tonight we are looking forward to celebrating their time here at Dwight at the Graduation Ceremony and Dinner. Family members, friends, students, and staff will join together with the Graduates for a fabulous evening, dedicated to their hard work and achievements.

D1 Theatre Arts Performance
On Monday, 22nd May at 6.00pm the D1 Theatre students will be performing two short original plays which they have written, designed and directed on the subject of mental health. They would very pleased, if you came along to support them. Afterwards, they are very keen for you to participate in a question and answer session, so they can gauge the intended impact their show has had on the audience.

Please email fkennedy@dwightlondon.org for further information or to book a seat.

Film School

We are please to announce that we have completed five films and will be editing these during the weekend of the 1st and 2nd of July. Our premier at the Curzon Cinema in Mayfair will be in September and we look forward to sharing more information with you about it soon. This year has been the largest Film School Club, with 36 students and Mrs Kennedy is very proud of the variety of ideas and styles of film that the five groups have developed.

D1 Theatre Trip

Last week our D1 Theatre Arts students went to the Barbican Theatre to see a play called Obsession with Jude Law. It was staged by a Dutch Theatre company Toneelgroep Amsterdam. The performance was based on the film by Luchino Visconti. This was a great piece of experimental theatre which the students thoroughly enjoyed.

Development Tuesday

Next Tuesday, 23rd May is development Tuesday, therefore lessons will finish at 2.40pm. Our final Development Tuesday of the year will be on Tuesday, 11th July.

Half-Term Reminder

There are no classes from Monday, 29th May to Monday, 5th June inclusive to include a staff training day. Students are to return to school on Tuesday, 6th June.

M4 2017/18 Options

A number of M3 families have asked if their son/daughter can continue to take both Art and French as they go into M4. This was not possible according to our original plan, but it looks as if it is now possible. I am aware of three families who will be happy with this arrangement, but please do let me know if other families would like to consider a change to the course selections made.

Volleyball Club

Many thanks to Mr. Mezlini, father of Slim and Mehdi, who came to help out with our volleyball club on Thursday. Mr. Mezlini is a former Olympian volleyball player. The students had a great opportunity to receive some coaching and play with a former world class player. Just another way of how our school community pulls together at Dwight.
