  • made playdough bears using brown playdough.
  • prepared some lovely Father's Day cards.
  • played with porridge oats, comparing sizes of bowls, hunting for words and filling and emptying containers.
  • worked on our assembly, learning songs, dances and a story.
  • went to Mrs. Cook's allotment to observe and draw the beautiful poppies as well as watch the busy bees going into their hive.

  • retold the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears making sure we were telling the story in the correct sequence.
  • played a game called Sound Talk where a puppet can only say sounds such as c-a-t and then the children have to guess which word she is trying to say.
  • ordered numbers 1- 10 and 10 - 20.
  • read the big book Getting Up! and talked about what was happening in the pictures.

Reception:

  • were introduced to money and learnt the names of some coins.
  • paid for different amounts using pennies.
  • learnt that you can make totals in different ways.
  • made story maps about Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

  • listened to the stories that some children made up for their action homework.

  • learnt about the sound 'er' and tried to read and write words with this sound.
