"Hello, I'm Sara Tomlin, the Little Lions Nursery Manager.

The Nursery team at Dwight School can't wait to welcome you to our warm and friendly learning environment.
We are proud to be one of the only IB nurseries in the area offering very child-led and hands-on experiences.

Our students are inquirers and we encourage them to ask questions and make connections in everything that they do. Our personalised approach ensures that each student can make progress, whatever their starting point.
We aim for our students to be caring, risk-takers and inquirers.
"

Dwight School London is an International Baccalaureate school. In addition to meeting all the requirements of the National Curriculum Early Years Framework, as an International Baccalaureate school we have a different approach to learning. The curriculum is holistic, encouraging children to explore a wide range of interests, and gives our students a chance to take the lead in following their own sense of inquiry. Students of the International Baccalaureate are well-rounded, independent individuals who have a passion for making a difference, both locally and globally.

These values remain at the heart of our school, from the day they graduate, right back to the very start in our Nursery. There are three main principles of the IB Learner Profile that we want to ensure is true for every child in our Nursery. International Baccalaureate Learners are Inquirers, Carers and Risk-takers - or as we put it, curious, caring and courageous cubs!

Inquirers

As Inquirers, our Nursery team is guided by the children's curiosity and play. Each individual is given the opportunity to follow their own interests. This gives them the tools to take control of their days, as well as fanning those sparks of interest into future passions.

Caring

Our Nursery is designed to evoke feelings of safety and homeliness. It’s about a space that promotes emotional well-being, togetherness and friendship. At Little Lions Nursery, our staff will make sure children feel comfortable to snuggle down or explore with confidence.

Risk-takers

During your child's early years, it is so important to allow them the confidence to freely explore their environment. Within the safety of the Nursery, they will encounter and conquer challenging situations, helping them understand how to judge risks for themselves in the future. We are Forest School-accredited, which means that your child can gain hands-on experience in a natural environment. Forest School is great for confidence-building, exploration, wellbeing and teamwork skills.
