"Hello I’m Ms Dublin and I’m the Little Lions Nursery manager.
I want your child to find their spark and joy in their learning as they wonder, thrive and grow in all areas of their development.
Our childcare facilities will ensure your child is made to feel settled, secure and happy within our space. Your child is the most important and that's why being constantly tuned in to their needs and interests is what I value most. It is central to their learning.
It’s the feeling everyone has a sense of belonging that I want both you as family and your child to feel. In the early years I want to bring joy, warmth, and comfort. It is important to every child, parent and carer and staff member.
We want to be a caring Nursery, where curiousity is encouraged and the staff's support makes the children feel safe to take risks and be courageous."
Dwight School London is an International Baccalaureate school. In addition to meeting all the requirements of the National Curriculum Early Years Framework, as an International Baccalaureate school we have a different approach to learning. The curriculum is holistic, encouraging children to explore a wide range of interests, and gives our students a chance to take the lead in following their own sense of inquiry. Students of the International Baccalaureate are well-rounded, independent individuals who have a passion for making a difference, both locally and globally.
These values remain at the heart of our school, from the day they graduate, right back to the very start in our Nursery. There are three main principles of the IB Learner Profile that we want to ensure is true for every child in our Nursery. International Baccalaureate Learners are Inquirers, Carers and Risk-takers - or as we put it, curious, caring and courageous cubs!
As Inquirers, our Nursery team is guided by the children's curiosity and play. Each individual is given the opportunity to follow their own interests. This gives them the tools to take control of their days, as well as fanning those sparks of interest into future passions.
Our Nursery is designed to evoke feelings of safety and homeliness. As part of this, we are on a special journey to becoming a Hygge In The Early Years Nursery. Hygge (pronounced hue-guh) is a Danish word used when acknowledging a moment as cosy, charming or special. It’s about a space that promotes emotional well-being, togetherness and friendship. At Little Lions Nursery, our staff will make sure children feel comfortable to snuggle down or explore with confidence.
During your child's early years, it is so important to allow them the confidence to freely explore their environment. Within the safety of the Nursery, they will encounter and conquer challenging situations, helping them understand how to judge risks for themselves in the future. We are Forest School-accredited, which means that your child can gain hands-on experience in a natural environment. Forest School is great for confidence-building, exploration, wellbeing and teamwork skills.
